Advances in technology and the influence of foreign culture have had a huge impact on social relations among Indonesian people in general and especially on the island of Bali. This influence is not only felt in urban areas, but has reached remote villages. The influence of foreign technology and culture also affects the lives of some women, especially those who live and work in urban areas, including Christian women. In Christian teachings, especially in the Christian Holy Book (Bible), there are several examples of women’s lives that can be emulated. Ruth is an example of women whose loyalty cannot be doubted. She has decided to follow her mother-in-law, Naomi, who was left behind by her husband and son, Mahlon (Ruth’s husband) and Kilyon (Orpa’s husband). Ruth was loyal to Naomi and had taken an oath of allegiance by saying: “for where you go, there i will go, and you spend the night, there i will spend the night: you people are my people and your God is my God”: A confession that we very rarely see, to date. Ruth is a picture of a faithful and strong women who suffers, until God brings her together with Boaz who elevates her life. The Lord Jesus works in the lives of women faithful to their faith like Ruth. So that his life is worthy and receives grace “listed in the genealogy descending from kings David and Jesus Christ.
