This study aims to explore the background of the book of 1 Timothy and highlight the exemplary qualities of church overseers in ministry life, with the hope of providing understanding and a positive impact in carrying out ministry. The research method used is normative research or literature study with theological and exegetical approaches.
The results indicate that church overseers must full fill the specified requirements and prepare themselves to meet the qualifications of an overseer. The discussion emphasizes the importance for overseers to meet each requirement in 1 Timothy 3:2-4 in order to set a good example for the congregation. Thus, church overseers are expected not to become stumbling blocks and to be able to carry out their duties according to biblical principles
